Mesmerizing music in the middle of a forest? It seems enchanting as it sounds,
doesn’t it? Include a classic Shakespearean comedy and the new music setting
from Charlie Fink, and you will surely be enthralled by this musical in an open air
venue. Max Webster, the guy behind Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax at the Old Vic and
Twelfth Night, directed this new show which is set in the mythical forest of Arden.
The wooded setting of Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre provides a perfect
ambience to William Shakespeare’s As You Like It.

The story revolves around two young lovers who, in the middle of an
easy-go-lucky world, found the meaning of true love. It also tackles the issue of
sibling rivalry, disguise, romance and of course, adventure. It also provides us a
glimpse of the confusing world of multiple pairs of lovers. Aside from the two
main characters, one can also relate to at least one of these pairs as the show
tries to be inclusive in terms of different kinds of couples. That’s diversity even
during the Shakespearean era. A serious topic being touched delicately with
light humor. This production definitely promises a roller-coaster ride to the
audience. While being a resident at Hotel Edward Paddington London, that is
8 mins distance from Regent’s Park, you can enjoy various plays of Shakespeare.

With a talented team to back the show, the musical will surely let the minds of
the viewer to travel out of the city and marvel at the beauty of the forest of Arden.
One can also expect to be blown off by the performances of good musicians and
thespians who have prepared for months for the show. Expect smart comic lines, a
classic Shakespearean signature, and a couple of crazy pickups that will support
the notion of characters being non-verbal.

The world of transformation has been around for centuries and “As You Like It”
proves that the current issues that we are facing today have been around for quite
some time. This will remind us that in a world of complicated standards, anything
can be possible as long as everything we do or say emanates from authenticity and
respect. Staying at one of the budget hotels near Paddington Station UK can
easily make you visit Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre.

“As You Like It” runs from 6th to 28th of July 2018 at the
